Geography and History

Greece is located in Europe along the Mediterranean Sea and includes over 200 islands.

Among many things, Greece is known as the birthplace of democracy, Western philosophy, the Olympic Games, and many major scientific and mathematical principles.

Traditional Greek Cuisine

Greece is also known for its traditional cuisine, which dates back over 4,000 years. Olive trees and grapes are prominent throughout the region, and this is reflected in the regular use of olive oil and drinking wine with meals. 

Other common ingredients in Greek dishes include vegetables (such as peppers, onions and zucchini), herbs, grains, fish, yogurt and cheese.
