Tips to Manage Portions and Eat Healthier this holiday season

Happy holidays from all of us at Pangea Nutrition!

We know the holiday season is a challenge to continue eating healthy. Between family celebrations, work parties and other events, it feels like there are delicious foods everywhere (with many of them processed and high in calories). We can help!

Here are some  tips on eating healthier this holiday season:

Plan Ahead: Eating a light snack (such as yogurt or fruit) before arriving to an event can help you avoid hunger and overeating. Also, don’t skip meals, and try to stick to your normal eating habits.

Choose Wisely: Choose vegetables, fruits, whole grains and lean meats when possible, and try to avoid fried foods. Also, eat smaller portions so that you can enjoy your favorite foods without overindulging.

Stay Active: Try to stick with a routine of exercising for about 30 minutes, 5 days per week, every week. Take advantage of time with friends and family by going for a walk or exercising together.

As always, talk to a healthcare professional if you have questions about your health this holiday season.

Cheers to Happy, Healthy Holidays!
